Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991 is an English actress. She is also a director, model activist, and actress. Her most famous role is that of Ginny Weasley, the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the character for a decade, until she was chosen to play the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright was seen in several independent films following the show. The films received mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut with Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth in 2013 at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2012 she graduated from University of the Arts London with a bachelor's in filmmaking. In 2012, Wright established BonBonLumiere and began producing short films. Her first film she directed was called the coming-of-age thriller Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at the Cannes Film Festival to great critical acclaim. She also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films explored emotion and landscape as themes. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and is based on A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She has directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace, Lumos and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
